500ml bottle from Tesco. Pours clear pale gold with a thin white head. Sweet honey aromas, light lemon and hay. Taste is sweet, with a light bitterness that builds towards astringency at the end. More honey and slightly soapy. An OK lager.

500ml Brown bottle: Marston/Banks’s answer to the new ’craft lager’ market in the UK. Poured into a tall ’Fosters’ glass at home on 28th Nov 13. The beer looked a good medium depth golden colour and unlike most lagers, craft or otherwise this had a white head that actually hung around for a while. The body was clear and bright with carbonation bubbles rising steadily throughout the tasting. The nose was weak citrus and nothing else, usual non-smelling lager/pilsner otherwise. The taste was a mixture of citrus hints and semi-sweet maltiness with a fruity dry finish as the hops took over again after the malty centre. Good body feel and nicely put together. This is one of the better ’craft lagers’ around at the moment in the UK (that I’ve had anyway). So well done Marston/Banks’s.

Keg at the Moon Under Water, JDW - London. Pours clear gold with a creamy white head. Aroma has notes of sweat, bread and cereal. Light sweet flavor with melon, plastic, grapefruit and mild bread. Light bodied with average carbonation. Slightly crispy cereal to finish with sugary bread, a but more plastic, dough, vague citrus. Not awesome.
