Big brown lasting head. Seemingly opaque black body is just barely translucent dark red. Milky peppery roasty chocolate aroma, very harmonic, with metallic notes. Dry-sweetish burnt coffee taste with milky hoppy notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, smooth mouthfeel. Dry resiny metallic coffee aftertaste with burnt mealy notes. Excellent! (0.5l bottle, Centra, Oslo.)

(bottle) Clear, obviously not really black but mahogany coloured hue with a beige medium-sized foamy head. Quite fruity aroma of cassis and red berries and rather restrained roast-malty notes Light to moderately bitter flavour, light to medium bodied with an almost crispy carbonation, which is pretty uncommon for a Stout. Dark and moderately roasted malty taste with notes of liquorice, mocha and cassis; dry and moderately bitter and roasty finish with a tinge of hops. Likeable brew, but not entirely convincing for a Stout. 09.XI.09

Pour is dark with a rocky tan head. Looks marvelous. Aroma of roasted malts, chocolate, some dark fruit- not much though, brown sugar. Body is a tad on the thin side. Powdered chocolate, roasted malts, and some mild bitterness round out this beauty of a stout. This is no World Wide Stout, nor is it trying to be. I could drink a few of these in a sitting, and at just over 4% I don’t see why I wouldn’t.

Bottled(500ml). -Cola coloured, small off-white head, light coffee nose. Roasted malt, coffee, brown sugar and some fruits with low carbonation and pleasant mild coffee aftertaste. Good stout.

07/04 A 0.5 l bottle ogivlado brought from Hungary, thanks for sharing! It poured a very dark brown body with smaller brown head that flattened soon. Typical stout aroma, some coffee and just a touch of other dark malt scents. Coffee flavor, not too dry, a bit of caramel and fruits to balance it. Full bodied for 4.2% ABV. Pleasant and long coffee aftertaste. I liked this one although stouts are not my things...that coffee flavor here was nice.

0.5l bottle shared with heavy and ogivlado, courtesy of the latter (thanks!). BB nov ’09. Poured an extremely dark brown body with a small off white head that went away fast. Coffee and sweet maltiness in the nose. Light, smooth taste of coffee, balanced, some fruity notes. Actually refreshing. Very light acidity, light aftertaste. Ok enough.

Bottled, Beer Hunters’ (BB 04/2010). Dark brown color, small steady tan head. A bit toffeish and chocolaty, nutty hoppy aroma with hints of menthol. Crisp carbonation. Light porter flavors: toasty maltyness, dry mouthfeel, hints of dark chocolate. Session porter which is actually similar to some Czech dark lagers.

(Bottle, Monk’s Café, Wallingatan, Stockholm) Very dark brown colour with foamy, beige head. Roasted, malty nose with chocolate, liquorice and distinct blackcurrant aromas. Malty, slightly fruity taste with notes of chocolate, dark fruit, blackcurrant and spicy hops. Rather thin body, balanced fruity sweetness. An easy to drink stout with an interesting touch of fruity hops.
