Barrel-Aged Wheat Wine
We met the great guys from Budapest's Monyo Brewing during one of our travels and found we have many similar ideas about beer. It was natural then that the conversation quickly turned to making a beer together.
The project: make a strong and unique brew using some nordic ingredients. The result: we made a Wheat Wine, added Norwegian black currants, oak-aged the beer in third-fill Breckenridge Bourbon barrels for several months, and then added just a hint of vanilla. The finished beer is as big as it sounds, vinous and tart with notes of whiskey and fruit. Recommended serving temp. 10-12°C."

Kicsi, gyorsan eltűnő hab, barna szín. Édeskés, búzás, bourbonos, vaníliás, pirosgyümölcsös illat. Édes, karamelles, búzás, vaníliás, hordós, ribizlis ízek, enyhe bourbonos aromával. Testes, enyhén szénsavas, enyhén kesernyés. Finom, jól összerakott sör.

Lillehøgda. Ultramørk amber.Uklar. Middels høyt luftig skum med litt farge. Blir film. Aroma av sherry & mandler. Smaken fersken & vanilje. Søt. Lett tørr avslutning.

Draft. A dark red-brown beer with lazing brown head. The aroma has notes of berries, alcohol, wheat, and hops. The flavor is sweet with notes of wheat, alcohol, berries, lemons, and hops, leading to a dry finish.

Super clean to the point where it is almost lacking boldness of a 12% beer. The barrel agedness comes through at the end to help it. But it is a great barleywine in the european style. Kaschk berlin

0,33 flaske fra polet på Kilden, hjemme mens jeg lager bursdagsmiddag til Kitty: mørkerød kobber med ok skum. Greit nok utseende, men smaken tar kaka - vinøs med herlig preg av ville bær (blåbær/bjørnebær/krekling), vanilje og eik. Mild bitterhet og superdeilig bærsyre i avslutningen. Rund, innsmigrende, full av good vibes og mersmak. En annerledes og virkelig smaksrik WW. Må nok en tur på polet igjen til uka, håper bare de ikke blir utsolgt i mellomtiden.

Cloudy deep amber, small ivory-coloured head. Aroma: dark malts, nuts, dried fruit, barrel. Medium body. Taste: relatively dry, malty, nutty, tannins, bourbon. Light to medium body. Easy drinking for that ABV.

On tap at Neked Csak Dezso Budapest. Brownish coloured, small to medium sized off-white head, caramel and wood in the nose. Sweet malty, caramel, quite strong dried fruits and notes of wood. Alcohol also noticable, sweet finish.
