Dark ale, no head with some redeeming aroma and taste which disappears all too quickly when drank. Aroma is mild roast.

Good locking mild with decent creamy head, not full of flavour, but has s smooth texture.

440ml can. Thick creamy tan head. Dark black pour. Pretty good for only 3.2%. Very drinkable.

Dark colour with a creamy tan head. Mild roasted aroma. Also a very mild flavour and a bit flat. Roasted malt, chocolate and espresso notes. Mild but yet tasty and easy drinkable. A bit light texture.

440 ml can into imperial pint glass, best before 8/23/2012. Pours crystal clear very dark brown color with a small light tan head with decent retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Slight spotty lacing clings to the glass. Aromas of caramel, molasses, toffee, biscuit, toast, milk chocolate, nuttiness, earth, and light herbal hops. Very nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and decent strength. Taste of caramel, toffee, molasses, toast, chocolate, biscuit, nuttiness, earth, light raisin, and herbal spiciness. Very light herbal bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of chocolate, caramel, toffee, toast, molasses, earth and herbal on the finish for a short bit. Some decent flavor balance with a fair amount of flavor overall. No cloying flavors at all. Light-medium carbonation and medium bodied; with a fairly creamy and slightly slick mouthfeel that is good. No alcohol noticed other than a minimal warming after the finish. Very smooth and easy to drink as expected. Overall this is a nice mild. Nice fairly robust flavors; and very smooth to drink. I hope to find more milds in the future, there really aren’t too many available in the states.

440ml can poured into an English Pint. Pours very dark with about a finger of nut brown head. Aroma is mostly chocolate with a dose of something a little sour, some coffee and some roasty nuts. Taste is light bitter. Baking chocolate, coffee and nuts. Almost reminds me of a porter. Light bodied with a thin texture. Flat carbonation and a decently long finish. Overall, not bad. Not a style I’d really get into but I’ll enjoy this one.

Can. Roasty malt, chocolate, coffee and ashy aroma. Clear dark brown with a small creamy tan head, and decent lacing. Light roasted coffee and chocolate flavor with a bitter finish like charred toast. Thin watery body.

Can (via a trade with bu11zeye). Pours with a clear deep, brown hued body with ruby highlights and a tan head that fades (completely after a while). Aromas are very mild, roasty, a hint of sulfur, bready, watery, toasty, leather, a touch sour (a bit like the sour mash component most notable in Guinness), brown sugar, and restrained fruit esters. Flavors are medium nutty, malty, earthy, high carbonate water, leather, mild salinity, some roast, biscuit, soil, tobacco and ash. Restrained esters. Typical low carbonation with a medium to light body and a somewhat dry, roasted finish. Seems like a decent, albeit generic mild.

Draft @ Zeke’s, Miami Beach. Med brown colour. Low head. Has a thin, metallic aroma w light briwn sugar notes. Light palate with some nutty brown ale stuff, a hint of chicolate and that’s about. One of tge best pints of mild I ever had was a Cain’s in Liverpool. Well, keg in Miami is a long way from cask in Liverpool, in every way you can think of.

Whole Foods P st, DC six-pack ($12): Pours a really dark brown with a thin tan head. Aroma is pretty light and malty with a tad of ash. Roasted malts are more apparent in the taste. The taste is, however, still on the thin side (certainly a side-product of the low alcohol content). Very chuggable. Hops are very minimal, but there is a subdued bitterness in there that does actually linger to the aftertaste. Pretty good, and an interesting style to have occasionally.
