Tasted during a German and lager evening (Aug 2011), did OK against some well known Pilsners and Exports. Brown 500ml bottle, best before May 2012. Typical lager/pilsner/export golden body, clear and clean looking. Fairly sweet in the nose and taste, not unpleasant, but certainly not as dry tasting as the German Exports also being reviewed at the time. Mid-strength in body depth and flavour, an OK brew and just above average for it’s style

Total Wine & More, Chantilly 14.9 oz can ($1.50): Pours a dark yellow with a white head. Aroma is typical lager smell, grass and a bit of hops. Taste is predictable and bland. It is easy drinking enough and a few steps above your run-of-the-mill pale lager, but not by enough. A disappointment.

16 ounce can from Total Wine West Richmond. Pours a clear pale straw color with a frothy white head that fades quickly. Aroma of green apple jolly ranchers and some grainy malts. Seriously if I didn’t know better I’d think this were cheap cider. The taste is grainy and slightly toasted malts, and apples. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Weird one.

On tap at Brewpub, Liverpool. Golden colour with a white head. Moderate sweet aroma and a bit fruity. Flavour are about the same. But better than their pils version

Draught. Creamy white good mostly lasting head. Yellow colour. Light malty and hoppy aroma. Light bitter flavor. Butter notes. Average light bitter finish. Oily palate.

500ml bottle. Pours dark orange with a medium frothy head. Aroma is sweet honey and grass. Taste has sweet malt to start. Honey and grass in the medium bitter finish.

500ml bottle from Cains Brewery Tap, shared together with CinnamonGirl and Magne at our hotel room. Golden body, fading white foam. Oil-hoppy aroma. Smooth flavour of noble hops mixed with grainy malts and a brief bitter support to the ending. Clean mouthfeel. Lively carbonated. Decent lager (Liverpool, 04.05.2009).

Bottle from Sainsbury’s, Warrington. Deep gold in colour with a tight white head and slight carbonation. Sweetish malt aroma, with a suggestion of peppery hop. Flavour had more of the same sweet malts, with a touch of fruitiness, some tired hops and a short, bitter finish. Lacking in character.

Bottle, thx to Tarjei. (as Liverpool 2008 lager) A clear, golden beer with a small white head. The aroma has a malty background, with nice fruity hops up front, and with a grainy touch. Malty flavor too, with nice fruity and grassy hops. A bit grainy though, and a little low on bitterness, but what can one expect from a pale lager. Medium body, quite dry. Bitter finish with some grain and fruityness. Refreshing and quite uninteresting beer. Sure acceptable for a pale lager though. (080731)
