440ml can from Vinmonopolet Langnes. Shared with Finn. Spotty lacing from a stable fawn-coloureed head, coal black in the glass. Attractive coffee-chocolate aromas. Robust taste profile of black chocolate, cocoa, and a nut vibe, hints of coffee to a smoothly roasted ending, long-lived. Warmth for the alcohol.. Fine depth. Good sipper. (Bergstua, Malangen 15.06.2021).

From a 440ml on 13/6/2021 (present from Ed with thanks). Has quite a strong coffee and chocolate nose. Tastes of dark and milk chocolate with a good dash of coffee, finishing with quite a sharp roasty bitterness. Has a slightly slick mouthfeel and moderate to average carbonation. A nicely put together big porter.

Panda at home, thanks to the Wingmane, 13/03/21. Black with a good sized khaki head that lingers a little then dissipates to a swirl and edgeing. Nose carries a solid coffee vibe, mellow roast, chocolate biscuit, coffee bean, light spice. Taste comprises coffee bean, chocolate, dark malts, brown sugar melt, shades of tiramisu coffee soak, nutty snap, cocoa sprinkle. Medium bodied with bite, fine carbonation, semi drying close Solid coffee porter ... you can just tell when good quality coffee has gone into a beer such as this one.

Can from Westhill Service Station. It pours black with a dissipating dark tan head. The aroma is rich roasted malt, earthy, big hit of freshly ground coffee, nutty, praline, chocolate cake, light umami, treacle and some rocky road. The taste is slick, smooth, bitter - sweet, rich roasted malt, big hit of rich coffee, espresso with brown sugar, nutty, some spice, earthy, some dried fruits, dark chocolate, cakey character, salted caramel and no real hit of of alcohol which I would expect from 10%.... Finish is roasty coffee which dries out. Medium+ body and fine carbonation. Coffee upfront, but balanced and dangerously drinkable.
