Appearance- very dark, nearly black, a small mocha head, light brown tinges at the bottom. Aroma- milky coffee, chocolate, toast, caramel, fudge cake. Taste- lots of chocolate, coffee, hints of roast malt, hop traces, bit of liquorice and dark fruit in the background. Slightly fizzy mouthfeel, short finish.

Bottle at the Pozarevac tasting in Serbia 10242015. Purchased at Johnny Off L. in Rome-Italy. Pours black, huge beige cap. Nose: mocha, a bit cappuccino-like, loads of dark chocolate. Mouth: watery, filtered coffee, slightly bitter. Clean and silky. It’s a peculiar and tasty porter.

Bottle shared @So Good (Rome). Pours deep brown/black with a medium creamy off-white head. Aroma of chocolate, coconut, mocha, a minimal metallic note that rapidly disappears. Flavour is medium sweet with a delicate bitter end. Medium to light body, medium to light carbonation. Elegant, refined.

Bottle at Mum and Dads, from Callans Dundalk, 26/12/14. Black with a decent tan covering. Nose is sweet malt, light cocoa, faint charr, dark fruit notes, light fresh dung - sweet manure stylee. Taste comprises sweet notes, toasted brown sugar, nutty, vanilla, dark chocolate, light roast. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with light roasted tones and sweet notes. Ok porter, a little sweet in places, can’t say I was getting any real coconut flavour just a sweet infusion, one of those beers you think you’re getting something but perhaps only because it was mentioned on the label!
