Unusual name, unusual beer! The “Waggle Dance” is the movement a bee performs to alert the hive to a source of nectar. The Waggle Dance beer is a beautifully balanced, sneakily seductive, golden coloured beer. it is popular both as a cask ale (Alc. 4.0% Vol.) and in 500ml bottle (Alc. 5.0% Vol.) across a wide range of beer lovers both male and female and of all (legal) drinking ages.

Cask (handpump) @ GBBF 2010, Great British Beer Festival, Earls Court Exhibition Centre, London, England.Clear medium orange color with a small to average, frothy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted - caramel, honey notes, light hoppy. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet and light to light moderate bitter with a average duration, honey sweet. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20100806]

Bottle: Deep golden, almost clear, persistent creamy off-white layer, lazy carbonation; sweetish fruity-malty nose with a tinge of honey indeed; moderate sweet-bitter flavour, light to medium bodied, creamy MF; slightly increasing bitterness, combined with an - almost metallic - tartness in the finish. Neither...nor.......

(bottle) Hazy, pale golden colour with a thick and slightly off-white foamy head. Slightly doughy pale malty aroma with traces of honey and grassy hops. Slightly bitter-sweet flavour, light to medium bodied with a moderate carbonation. Doughy malt character with a shy touch of honey and notes of grassy hops towards the dry and slightly bitter finish. 26.XII.10

bottle cloudy brown. smooth offwhite to very light brown head. honey, metallic or stale hops in the aroma. flavor is mostly honey and caramel. lots of light caramel, some toffee, some honey. not much malt, no sign of any hops, except in the aftertaste where a decent amount of bitterhops kick in. Pretty weird even for an english beer. overall the taste is sort of okay towards fine, if you are in the mood for honeysweet beer. it’s like there is the very cloying sweet honey, then the very bitterhoppy hops, but nothing in between to bridge the two, leaving a messy or unbalanced beer. I think they could get to something good if they tried to improve on the recipe.

From cask. Pours clear and golden orange with a small white head. Aroma is roasted malt and mild grassy hops. Bitter and slight malty. Subdued sweet malt note. Vague herbal from back of the tongue. Ends dry and slight citrusy bitter.

500ml bottle. Pours a light golden yellow with a small head. Smells a bit artificial and sweet. Taste is a bit better, sweet and honey to start with a bitter finish. Bit too much carbonation and a little thin on the body.
