Bottle thanks to Rich. It pours hazy deep brown with a thick, fluffy khaki head. The aroma is musty, bitter - sweet, sour, tangy, red wine vinegar, sherbet, bramble sour candy, raspberry, balsamico and some candy. The taste is crisp, dry, snappy, sharp, tangy, vinous, balsamic vinegar, strawberry, light acidity, cola, cherry cola, raisin, sultana, lactic, tangy, light alcohol, damp oak and some leathery tannin witt a drying finish. Medium body and moderate fluffy carbonation. Well rounded and balanced.

Taste is dry sour-ish fruity, sour dark fruits, soda powder, oak, minerals, mild vinegar, soy sauce, bark, barnyard, grass, leather. Medium bitterness, slightly dry sour-ish fruity mouthfeel. Nice.

--Bottled, from Systembolaget. -- Hazy mahogany colour, small head. Oaky tart nose with red wine and hay. Tart with medium body and rounded mouthfeel. Citric oak, old hay, red wine and minerals. Mid bitter finish. Elegant, complex and delicious.

Poured from a 750 ml bottle with a bottled date of March 11, 2022. Aroma is malt forward with raisin, fig, cherry and prune notes along with lots of toasted bread, dark toffee, caramel and nuts. Light oak notes. Light alcohol notes. Pours dark brown, with auburn hues and a medium large, thick, pillowy tan head that recedes steadily to a small film that lingers. Moderately high amount of lacing and small legs. Flavor is slightly sweet but fairly acidic and a bit sharp. Moderate notes of toasted bread, nuts, dark caramel and toffee. Light cherry, prune and raisin notes. Medium bitterness and light alcohol notes. Light oak notes and tannins. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Low, but present astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, an alright oud bruin. Quite sharp, but with nice fruit notes and malt character. A bit astringent.

Batch 48 (darker malt version). 750mL bottle, pours black with a medium tan head. Nose brings out barnyard funk, lots of smoky leather, dry cocoa, and tobacco. Flavour is modestly tart, with huge barnyard funk, tobacco, leather, dry cocoa, and earthiness. Pretty exquisitely blended. For a non-pure lambic, this is damn impressive. Very funky, leathery, and well-blended. Lovely. 8 4 8 4 17 Batch 47 (lighter malt version). 750mL bottle, pours a deep dark amber brown with a medium beige head. Aroma brings out lots of leather, barnyard funk, a hint of tart jammy berries, and low-level phenols. Flavour is a phenol bomb, with lots of burnt rubber, leather, gentle funk. The phenols totally take this over. Man, what a tragedy of a beer. How could 3 Fonteinen let this happen? 7 4 6 2 13

750ml @ Matt's new place. Blend 48. Appearance: dark brown with a beige head. Aroma: extremely funky, lots of minerals, some burnt sulphur notes. Taste: along the same lines, funk accompanied with roasted malts bitterness. Overall: nice one. 8-4-8-4-16=40 ***** 750ml @ Matt's new place. Blend 47. Appearance: copper with a beige head. Aroma: some caramel and acidity, roasted malts, light funk, phenols. Taste: quite acidic, with some roasted malts, and a little funk. Abrasive and harsh. Overall: very different to #48, not good. 7-3-7-3-14=34
