No. 48. There's almost a molasses note on the nose, woody, a touch of cherry, hint of barrel. On the palate, lots of fruit, some tartness, fairly light, and then it's got a few random sugars. A bit leathery, with a touch of the fruit notes. The lambic seems like it makes the beer lighter, such is the richness of the oud bruin character. It's quite a different take on the oud bruin idea, would love to see this without the lambic, just to see what it's like. 8 - 4 - 7 - 4 - 15 = 3.8 No. 47. Amber-brown, no head. This has a big pop and then there's a bit of phenol on the nose. Lots of phenol on the palate, too. It's quite tart, the fermentation seems to have gone wonky. 3 - 5 - 6 - 2 - 11 = 2.7

Back to back tasting No. 48 (7/4/7/3/15=3.6), then No. 47(8/4/8/4/17=4.1); Rating scored is the No. 48 rating. Poured from 750mL bottle (No. 48; season 21/22; dark malt; bottled 11/03/2022). Very dark brown with beige head. Nice funk, gentle lambic quality, mild caramel malt quality. Very nice. Poured from 750mL bottle (No. 47, season 21/22; lighter malt; bottled 10/03/2022). Amber brown with small beige head. More oud bruin like compared to No. 48. Funky tartness, touch of phenols, okay, but No. 48 is definitely superior.

750mL bottled 2022, drunk 4/30/23 at TΓΈrst. Maroon. Clear, big, beige head slowly to cover. Roasty toasty malt. Raspberry, cherry, date and big fig. Lower acidity than expected. Though gentle lacto-acetic emerges. Date, fig, plum, caramel, vanilla, raspberry. All work towards a stout-like character but it's a light, lean body. Leather, cherry, vanilla, good sweetness to balance. Certainly quite interesting and well-done. Malt forward lambic!

Bottle, blend no 47 21/22 bottled 10th of March 2022. 8.0%. Light gusher. Color: Murky orange-brown, very large beige-light brown head. Aroma: Funky, caramel, tart, fruity red berries. Like a Flemish brown / Lambic mix. Taste: Moderate tart, combination of rural funk, oak wood, old hop, fruity notes of citrus, unripe grape and berries and hay. Light hints of Balsamico vinegar. taste is going more towards Lambic than Flemish Brown / Red in my opinion. Very nice.

Bottle (season 21 - 22, Blend No. 48) at the latest DC Ratebeer tasting. Poured an interesting dark amber color, almost cola-like in appearance. Aroma was roasted malts, with a decent amount of funk. Flavor was light acidic tart funky notes. Light earthy character. Tasty stuff.

9-4-9-4-18 Bottle, no 47 21 - 22, 8 % ABV, ten months after bottling. Pours hazy rusty brown, with an enormous creamy off white head. Aroma is acetic notes with hay, grapes, cherries and leather, as well as farmhouse notes with bretty minerals, tannins and wooden barrels. Medium body, with average carbonation. Flavour is acetic notes of wine vinegar, fruity brett with apples, cherries and berries, as well as slightly funky farmhouse notes, tannins and wooden barrels. Lingering wooden, dry finish. Brilliant!
