440ml can from Tŷ Seidr, Aberystwyth. Poured almost black in colour with a very short-lived, fizzy tan head. The aroma is roasty malt, earthy. The flavour is moderate sweet, with a mostly smooth, roasty, earthy, light sweet chocolate, chocolate, boozy alcohol bitter palate. Medium bodied with lively initial carbonation.

Can at home shared with Laura. Opaque black color, virtually no head. Aroma and flavor are malts, milk chocolate, light caramel, vanilla, sweetish. Pretty damn nice.

440mL can, pours jet black with a small dark brown head. Aroma is full of caramel, milk chocolate, and earthy, bready malt. Flavour is bizarre and has some bizarre off-notes, with some strange light phenols, burnt caramel, cocoa, and sludgy earthiness. Metallic, lightly phenolic -- what's going on here? This isn't good.

Can, courtesy of Ryan
Black colour; medium sized, brown head. Aroma of cacao, vanilla. It's fairly dry, almost weak, some chocolate and vanilla flavour, caramel, but hardly competing with anything that is top class. High acidity (not infection, just malt acidity); metallic finish. Grossly overpriced, not that good.

Poured from 440mL can. Black with small tan head and lots of sediment. Dry cocoa, caramel, touch of vanilla. A bit thin. Quite underwhelming. Not worth the cost.

440 ml can. Pours black with moderate fizzy tan head. Aromas of caramel, gooey chocolate, vanilla, and slick roasted malts. Flavors follow same with what also seems to be maple syrup. Dry acrid finish which is the only hint of the ABV. Solid

440 ml can, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 12.0%. Pitch black colour, moderate brown head. Aroma of roast malts, chocolate, caramel and vanilla. The flavour is sweet, but not cloying, with the same elements as the aroma. Low bitterness.

BOOM! And this is a winner! Pours near black with a frothy tan head and a fabulous sweet milk chocolate aroma. Has an oily mouthfeel and a full bodied choco-malt flavour, with a vanilla vibe going on

440ml can (Christmas rebrew). Pitch black with a dense tan head which stays the duration. Aroma of chocolate, caramel, vanilla - spot on. Taste on the other hand is not a good recreation of Chomps, chocolate, burnt caramel, and booze on a biscuity malt base. Incredibly thin (feels like 4%). A mixed bag. Disappointing as I love Chomps!
