Warm, smooth, sweet dried fruit and vanilla complement a commanding Brandy character. This remarkably limited version was 100% barrel-aged for 12 months in Brandy casks.

Bottle [2016] at home shared with Laura. Opaque jet black color with a full sized medium dark brown colored head that lasts for quite a while. Aroma is malts, brandy, dark malts roast. Flavor is malts, dark malts, roast, brandy, dark malts bitter lingering in the finish. Very pleasant even at nearly 10 years old. Awesome!

Bottle thanks to AJ. Pours a very dark brown with small beige head. The aroma is tobacco, wood, licorice, brandy, roast. Slick body, roast, licorice, chicory, wood, peat, boozy finish, very good.

Refrigerated 2016 brown bomber poured into a glass. Black with small Light brown head, medium body, medium carbonation, and little lacing. Taste is roasted malt, anise, chocolate, brandy, some wood, and a little fruit. Better as it warms.

Bottle pour (2016 vintage) from trade with AirForceHops--thanks, Chris! Appearance is opaque black with light sparkle at the edges of the glass, finger-width light brown head with poor retention and no lacing. Aroma is strong brandy, dark fruit/fig, roasted malt, chocolate, cinnamon, earth/mushrooms, mild orange citrus. Taste is brandy, dark fruit, roasted malt, lighter chocolate, some alcohol. Mouthfeel is light-to-medium bodied with thick, smooth texture, soft carbonation with lively kick at the end, mostly pleasant alcohol warmth (though bordering on burn), and mix of earthy chocolate and mildly bitter finish. Overall, an amazing aroma with tons of layers (don't know that I'd pick them all out without the description and only missing the coconut). Flavors are not quite as varied and alcohol is bit strong. But, these are the flaws separating it from amazing--this is still very good.

Bottle, courtesy of SinH4. Pours pitch black. Aroma is brandy barrel, roasted and burnt malts, liquorice. Body is heavy and strong and boozy, but paired with wood and roasted malts, creamy and smooth. Lots of brandy, but not overdone. Classical strong BARIS, very welcome to see this among all the pastry stouts floating around. Superbly impressive beer!

Bottle. Black color with beige head. Aroma is chocolate, liquorice, oak, roasty. Taste is oak, chocolate, liquorice, no real booze notes, just balanced oak, burnt wood. Very creamy mouthfeel with fine-bubbled carbonation. Very good, very balanced, rather classic Imperial Stout!

Bottle shared by Chalumeaux, thanks for the opportunity! Rich inky black color with a tan head that shows moderate retention. Rich roasty chocolate with a hint of licorice and bits of grape fruitiness that cuts through the roasty chocolate very nicely. Very tasty, my favorite abyss of the night.
