Cask conditioned ale has been the popular choice among brews since long before prohibition. We continue this pioneer spirit with our Wisconsin farmhouse ale. Brewed with flaked barley and the finest Wisconsin malts. We even give a nod to our farmers with a little hint of corn.
Naturally cloudy we allow the yeast to remain in the bottle to enhance fullness of flavors, which cannot be duplicated otherwise.
Expect this ale to be fun, fruity and satisfying. You know you're in Wisconsin when you see the Spotted Cow.

Bottle (courtesy of ford9719). Creamy malt aroma with light banana notes - very much like a light Hefeweizen. Clear light yellow color with minimal head. Light creamy malt flavor - slight hint of malt. Fairly light body. An excellent cream ale.

Late 2005 bottle from StewardofGondor, consumed on 5/30/06.
Very fruity nose, but not your typical fruits. Here I get mainly banana, nectarine and light peach, the banana being the strongest. The fruits are smooth, probably smoothed out by the flaked barley, which creates a soothing effect on the nose, but yet keeps things dry and does have a little hint of graininess on the end. I don’t find any of the corn, at least in the nose. Some vanilla hints from yeast biproduct and a nice zesty dryness on the end, thanks to some lightly bitter hops, that add a very mild citrus. Almost feel like I find some bubble gum and other esters, but I’m not sure.
The flavor is reserved, with the smoothness from the flaked barley keeping things soft in the mouth, and dry, but still a touch of moderately chewy graham crackers, with a light drizzle of lemon-flecked honey. Corn does not seem to provide much flavor, but there is a light sharpness that could be attributed to it. Nectarine notes and pale sugars build up slightly, but the yeast is rather dull and blanding, with a fair amount of water in the wort keeping things somewhat loose.
Bottle conditioned, but attempting to leave the yeast behind provides a glowing unripened peach body with strong straw tints. Head is fizzy and fully dissipating, being composed of large bubbles, light canteloupe in color. Another session beer from New Glarus and certainly well brewed and drinkable.

Bottled. Yellowish golden colour, small head. Aroma is sweetish malty and hoppy. Flavour is very smooth and quite lame. Fruity hops meeting some malts. A bit acidic hints also. OK brew, but quite one-dimensional...

Bottled 12 oz.
Pale, a bit hazy yellow, small white head. Sourish fruity and malty aroma, cow is what pops up in to my mind. Quite witbier like nose with those fruits and some spices. Fruity (watermelon, ananas), malty, corn, very soft palate. Not very exciting beer.

A drinkable if unremarkable beer. Cloudy, yellowish pour. Mildly aromatic with light malts and some sweet notes with a hint of breadiness. The flavors, too, were mild — sweetness and grains and a hint of corn. There was a slight tartness in the aftertaste.

This beer is a lightly hazy pale golden color with a very thin white head. No real lacing. Aroma of hops, fruit and grain. Light-bodied and crisp, with some corn taste. There are also hops and malt flavors. The finish is clean and lightly fruity. Not a bad Cream Ale.

Strange to find a New Glarus product in Michigan, but unfortunately it isn’t one of the better offerings. Hazy golden straw body, thin off-white head. Wet hay aroma, tangy and biscuity with light bitterness. The flavor is grassy and tangy, carrying over the wet hay from the aroma, mingling with apple and biscuit. Reminds me a bit of the lagers brewed by Old Hat. Decidedly average.

[draught] This beer is a hearty helping of boring, with a great big side of ho-hum. It doesn't seem to know what it wants to be. Is it a lager? A pilsner? A witbier? I can't tell, but it certainly isn't creamy either. There is a hint of lemon and a mild sweetness, but I could get the same flavor by adding a lightly sugared lemon wedge to a glass of water. As far as this beers relation to cows goes, I would be more inclined to associated it with an excretion that can't be made into cream.
