355ml bottle. Opaque, darkest brown colour with late awakening, small, creamy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, beige head. Citrusy and grassy, hoppy aroma with herbal touch over chocolately, dark malty basis, hints of lemon, orange and grapefruit, a touch of juniper, hints of milk chocolate. Taste is grassy and slightly herbal bitter hoppy, hints of orange zest, roasty dark malty background with cardboard touch. So so.

(bottle, 35.5cl, 7.0% abv) Black coloured hue with a beige and short foamy head. Delicately roasted malty aroma with present fruity and delicately resiny hops, including distinctive notes of cassis. Moderately bitter and slightly sweet flavour, medium bodied with a smooth carbonation. Soft and slightly roasted malt character with fruity and slightly resiny hops, again notes of cassis, lingering into the moderately dry and bitter hoppy finish. Simple but good. 17.XI.15

Draft - Nice hoppy pine notes and the slightest roast. Deep mahogany with a decent white head. Nice piney notes with a nice bitter finish. Really nice, but the ’dark’ flavours are missing.

On tap at Steamworks, pours a deep dark brown / black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out notes of roasted malt and piney hops. Flavour is well-balanced, bringing out a good mix of roasted malt and piney hops. Very well-crafted, with good robustness in both the hop and toasted malt departments. Very nice stuff.

2015-10-19, cask at Big Rock Urban, dry hopped with Mosaic, 7-4-6-3-13=33
Black color, nice compact beige head. It has a nice mixed aroma of dark malts and resiny hops. The roastiness in the flavor is a bit heavy, it seems too yeasty and somehow metallic, which clashes with the hop resins. The result is quite messy. Probably the cask conditioning is not the best choice for this beer.
2014-11-05, draught at Rogue Kitchen & Wetbar (W. Broadway), Vancouver, 10 oz, 7-4-7-4-15=37
Dark brown color if not black, with small beige compact head. The aroma is mild, a bit creamy and cheesy. Smooth mouthfeel; good flavor, balanced mix of roasted malt, coffee and some chocolate; strong bitterness level, quite resiny too, conveying some hop quality; dark chocolate final, although just a bit too roasty for me, with pleasant hop resins tingling the mouth.
Very good.
