This Hefeweizen is brewed with traditional german pilsner malt, white wheat malts, and double hopped with german hallertau mittelfruh hops, then fermented at higher temperatures to enhance the delicate banana esters with subtle hints of clove. This beer finishes crisp and clean making it highly sessionable amongst our slightly less traditional lineup.

Label on this can says Hef, not The Hef. The aRomas are a decent standard hefeweizen with a little bananas and cloves. Flavors are a little on the dry side as opposed to the slightly sweet traditional Bavarian. Also a little bit of lingering bitter I think from the yeast although I find no sediment in this, which, after all, is what the Hefe means in the name of this beer. All in all, a drinkable beer but not one that I would look for again.

Banana, orange, clove, wheat malt, and straw aroma. Slightly hazy golden yellow with moderate head. Moderately sweet banana, orange, strong clove, wheat malt, and mildly bitter straw flavor. Good body. Pretty good - clove heavy.

Keg at the brewery, 4/15/19. Hazy orange, thin creamy white head, good retention. Aroma of strong wheat, clove, citrus. Taste is banana, clove, yeast. Medium bodied, crisp, lingering spice. Solid hefe.
