This beer has a deep, rich base of five speciality malts, and a healthy dose of classic Kentish hops. Its essence is roasty and chocolatey, complemented with background layers of hedgerow and blackberry notes.

The occupants of London have been imbibing some form of beer for at least the last four thousand years. However, in the early 1970s, a mellow beer evolved and quickly became the preferred beverage of the dock workers (or porters) in the city’s heart. The Porter has been the quintessential beer of London ever since, and historically was only brewed within the city limits. Therefore, as a Londoner himself, this was always going to be the dark beer of choice for Luke. Compared to a traditional Porter however, this recipe has had the ABV brought up a notch – so it is far from a beer to be drinking on the docks!
