Saison. The second batch of our beloved Chooch. Brewed to commemorate the birth of Zach's first born, little choochy boy. Each year we’ll do it a bit different, changing up the hops, malt, yeast to invoke the spirit of the ever evolving and changing little guy. This year we mashed with local pilsner @empiremalting , malted oats, wheat, and a sprinkle of Vienna. Hopped justifiably in the whirler with Amarillo from @crosbyhops and a zesty, lemon forward hop called Loral. Fermented with our chosen saison strain, which highlights tropical fruit esters, peppery phenols and a nice dry finish.

Can from Holiday Market. Pours a mostly clear gold with a full 2 fingers of fluffy, white foam that lingers. Lovely saison yeast nose with banana, clove and peppercorn. As it warms some tropical fruit and grapefruit aromas come out, but the yeast is the star. Light bodied saison, with nice fruity esters and flavors, with some dried honey and peppercorn on the finish. Very nice, just wish more MI brewers took the time to make nice saisons like this.
