Handpull cask at the Star, Bishop’s Stortford. Light gold, almost straw. Clear. Very small ring of creamy white head. Light hoppy scent of orchard fruit and pineapple. Taste at first is a bit acrid, bordering on sick, then it settles into an agreeable hoppy bitter. Light clean finish. I am tempted to put the original acridity down to the clash with my last (very sweet) beer, so I’ve been kind with the rate. Tasty if inconsequential.

Cask, half-pint at The Beehive in Tottenham, watching the near-by match between Tottenham and Manchester United on big screen TV. A filmy layer leaving lacework on the glass. Near-clear golden body. Modest grassy hops on the nose. Lemon and grassy flavours, earthy malts beneath. Mild and fresh dry hopped ending. Easy going (London 10.04.2016).

330ml bottle from Beers of Europe. Gusher. Pours clear pale gold with a thick, but quickly collapsing, white head. Initial yeasty aromas give way to lemon, faint malt. Taste is bitter. Prickly carbonation. Thin finish.

On tap at Southwark, pours a clear golden orange with a small white head. Nose brings out English hops and biscuity malt. Flavour brings out English hops and biscuity malt. Super English tasting, with a good balanced, perhaps outdone a little in the hop department. Solid for what it is.

Clear golden brew with a fine white head. Malty, citric and a bit fruity aroma. Medium body and a soft carbonation. Fine bitterness. Nice smooth citric, herbal, malty and mild fruity flavor. Lovely fresh and nice blond ale with a fine hoppy sting.

On tap (handpump) at the brewery, Bermondsey, Saturday 7th February 2015 Pours crystal clear gold with a filmy white head. Some light hoppiness on the nose. I have to say I was really impressed with this beer, having just been to the Kernel and then the Weird Beard Tap Takeover at the Bottle Shop, the next beery stop-offs were always going to have a lot to live up to but this is a very good beer. Punchy bitterness, hops showing well, crisp in mouth, getting grapefruit in particular. Lovely. A6 A5 T8 P4 Ov14 3.7
