This unique incarnation of The Statement is made with Lutowka Morello-type cherries from Poland. The taste is definitely cherry, but more focused, brighter and with a touch more acidity than our standard Balaton version. It is delicious in its own singular way, and is demonstrative of the subtle but notable differences in flavors that can be achieved by using different fruit variations.

375 Bottle. Batch 2. Pours an opaque deep dark purple color. The aroma is strong with cherries and more cherries--very rich cherry flavor. The flavor, like the aroma, is a study in lutowka cherries with a nice bit of tannin complexity and a bit of tartness. The palate is full and coats the mouth well. Finishes absurdly long with lingering tart cherries. Overall: Awesome sauce. Paired will with an English Cheddar

Magus, hapukas, mega kirsine, nats mesine kerge alks, puuviljane, kerge mõrkjus. Hea, alks on nats liiga torkiv, aga see kirsisus on mega. Batchi ei loe välja, aga ilmselt viimane.

Corked bottle, courtesy of Ryan
Dark burgundy, opaque. Deep aroma of morello cherries, cherry jam (8.5). It's sweet, but not syrupy, it's also quite acidic, which provides balance; no honey character, but it's just straight up, rich cherry juice; it ends with a touch of astringency. And comforting, warming alcohol.
Once again, difficult to think of this like a mead, but it's a wonderful fruit wine.

375ml shared with Ryan on Alex's deck. Appearance: super dark purple. Aroma: very sweet, like a kompot, with loads of sweet and dark cherries that we call chernokorka. Taste: along the same lines, very intense. Overall: this is awesome, but really, let's be fair it is a fruit wine 😁

Bottle thanks to Brian. Pours a dark purple with small pink head that lasts. The aroma is strong cherry skin, oak, honey, earth. Slick body, sweet cherry, honey, wood, nice sweetness, light booze, enjoyed this.
