A fantastic combination of milk chocolate and coconut in a decadent porter. It is roasty, rich and inviting

22/VII/18 - 33cl bottle from Geers (Oostakker), shared @ The Abeels' home - BB: 8/V/19 (2018-880) Thanks to Chris for the trade and to Thomas for muling the beers!

Clear dark brown beer, small creamy beige head, little stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: that is a lot of coconut all right! Pretty roasted, chocolate, sweetish, caramel, lovely stuff! MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: oh yeah, lots and lots of chocolate up front, milk chocolate, lots of coconut, slightly acidic, soft bitterness. Aftertaste: lots of coconut, chocolate, nice bitterness, more roast, cocoa powder.

Bottle. Can’t recall where from. Clear, very dark, chestnut brown. Thin and lacing, beige head. Nose has coconut cream. Sweet, dried vine fruits. Coffee chocolate malts. Some fudge. Taste is fudgy, coconut sweetness. Some vinous character. Smooth mouthfeel. Medium body. Low carbonation. Finish isn’t overly sweet, and still comes across like a very decent porter. Nice one.

Pitch black, dense tan head
Aroma of roasted malts, soft charcoal, no coconut or chcocolate, burnt coffee roast
Taste of soft roasted malts then sweet dark malts take over, then getting plain chcooalte, still light roast in background. Second sip it's more Bounty bar with slight coffee in backgroud...bit of a journey this one
Palate - Medium body, light sweet, smooth. Finish - Now we get the coconut in the tail, then the roast come back
Overall - Aroma disappointing but the beer opened up in the taste ... interesting ... better than Cocoa Wonderland
