Pours nicely black, bit of brownish foam. Smells roasty. Very thick mouthfeel. Taste is deep, a bit earthy, loads of licorice and plenty of roast. Nice bitterness, tiny bit of sweetness underneath. Little bit metallic. They forgot the coconut?

473ml can. Jet black colour with small to average, thick, frothy to creamy, moderately lasting, minimally lacing, tan head. Chocolately, roasty, nutty, dark malty aroma, hints of roasted nuts, hazelnut, coconut, toffee, treacle, coffee, coffee liqueur, fudge. Taste is minimally sweet, chocolately dark malty, nutty, notes of toasted cococnut, dark chocolate, some coffee, toffee, fudge; a minimally floral, hoppy touch of mint. Oily to viscous texture, smooth and soft, silky, minimally sticky palate, gentle carbonation. Probably not the most complex basic Impy Stout, but the coconut is superbly integrated - not overdone, in no way artificial, a well matching adjunct.
