cask pour at the Jolly Judge. Dark black pour, still, small cap of beige head. Aroma and taste sit squarely on a solid roasty malt bill, notes of chocolate, light bitterness and drying out towards the finsih.

Keg at Brewdog in Reading. One-third pint shared with Finn. Clingy lacing from a beige, bubbly head that stayed well over a near-black body. Inviting smell of liquorice and chocolate, a scent of fruit as well. Quite well blended taste of chocolate, stewed fruits, and liquorice notes. Rounded roasted finish. Fine bodied. Pleasant stout version. (19.11.2021).

Tap at Brewdog Sheffield. Poured a clear almost black colour with a lasting frothy off white head. The aroma is roasty malt, light liqourice, chocolate. The flavour is moderate sweet, light liqourice bitter, with a smooth, roasty, light smoky, chocolate, coffee, light liqourice bitter palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.
