Drunk after setting up my router table with a guide that can work as a jointer. Yay! Dark brown, clear with a tall lasting head. Brown sugar and roasted malt nose. Pretty sweet, not too complex but decent balance - smooth and very drinkable. Tasty Doppelbock.

Dunkelbrauch und klar mit roten Reflexen. Die nussbraune, feinporige Schaumkrone überzeugt mit guter Haltbarkeit. In der Nase vernimmt man kräftige Malznoten von dunklem Karamell, Kakao, Ovomaltine, aber auch Milchschokolade. Der Antrunk kommt breit und röstig malzig mit den zu erwartenden Noten von Karamell, Kakao und Ovomaltine. Das Mundgefühl präsentiert sich mit einem Körper mit guter und angenehmer Fülle, sehr feiner Rezenz, samtig-weiche Textur und leichter Malzsüße. Geschmacklich und aromatisch dominieren selbstverständlich weiterhin die süßlichen und röstigen Malznoten. Karamell, Kakao, Ovomaltine, ... ebenso eine leichte Holzigkeit mit zartem Fruchtanklang. Für einen Doppelbock vielleicht etwas zu wenig komplex, dafür aber sehr gut und durchaus leicht trinkbar. Der Nachtrunk hält scheinbar unendlich lange an und lässt sämtliche bereits erlebten Röstmalznoten revue passieren. Nach längerer Zeit stellt sich ein leicht süßliches, zart trockenherbes Finish ein, welches an dunkle Schokolade erinnert.

50cl Fles bij In de Wildeman. Label zegt 5.6% ABV, maar 7 is een stuk aannemelijker. Robijnbruine kleur, beige kraag. Medium zoet, caramel, gebrande mout, gebrande suiker, donker fruit, vijgen, degelijk bitter. Medium body. Prima Bock.

Clear dark red-brown. Medium beige head. Sweet, caramel, fruity, spicy, toasty. Medium body. Warm, spicy finish.

Bottles from House Of Trembling Madness and Great Grog. Clear ruby body with a beige head. Steady carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of earth, caramel, brown bread, raisins and glazed cherry. Flavour of caramel, dried fruit, peppery spice, stewed tea and toffee. Medium body with a slick texture. Soft fizz. A clean, tasty Doppelbock. It doesn’t have the malty depth of my favourite Doppelbocks, but it’s still a very tasty beer.

0.5l bottle at OP, thanks SZ! Clear dark coppery body, off-white head. Smooth soft dried fruit aroma, some cherry touches, lovely caramelly note. Smooth soft caramelly taste, light dried fruit, vaguely grainy, very well balanced smooth, sweet, well hidden alcohol. Good stuff!

0.5l bottle. Pours a clear dark brown with a biege head. Aroma of sweet caramel/toffee malts, dried fruits, slightly nutty. Taste is the same, sweet and malty, caramel, toffee, dried fruits, nutty. Medium bodied. Nice one.

Magus, karamelline, linnaseline, puuviljane, leivane, kommine. Ok.

Bottle from Drankenhandel Leiden. Aroma is brown malt with caramel, a hint of roast and dried fruit. A suggestion of nuts thrown in there. Flavour is moderate to medium sweet with a decent bitterness. Medium body. Solid Doppelbock, rich malty profile.
