Medium beige shiny head. Clear deep dark brown body. Sugary pine needle and sun-baked pine trees aroma with spicy notes. Dry-sweet intensely herbal and spicy taste with smoky sun-baked pine tree notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, soft mouthfeel. Dryish blackberry and smoke aftertaste with roasty earthy notes. I pick up vanilla, too, and vague traces of bourbon. Nice, interesting, weird, complex. A bizarre melange of complexity. (0.2l draft at brewpub.)

On tap. Black body, light brown head. Aroma of coffee, roasted malts and cream with some earthy hoppyness. Tastes like coffee, cream and even sour cherry. The mouthfeel is a bit watery and not creamy enough. The finish has some nice hop bite in it. Nice session beer.
