Tap at Brasserie 4:20, Roma, 22/06/13. Light black with a good sized tan head. Nose carries a good roast bite, bitter grapefruit, hops, orange. Taste comprises tropical fruit sundae, hops, mineral notes, bready malts, grapefruit, light pine bite, touch of grass. Medium bodied with bite, fine carbonation, hop bitterness in the finish. Solid enough CDA, the 9% booze hardly came into play for me!

Bottle, bubbley long lasting bubbley head, pitch black coloir, aroma of dark bread, soy and carob and a touch of dried fruits, with forest and shrub hoppiness, flavour of dark bread and dark bitter chocolate with a strong shrubby bitterness, long bitter and a bit dry aftertaste. Good BIPA.

Bottle shared at a tasting at the new Beer & Beyond shop. Thanks Alex420 for this bottle! Transparent dark brown to black-colored with a beige head. Aroma of herbal, woody and slightly citric hops, a bit stale. Roasty flavor, pretty bitter, with bold herbal hoppiness and coffee.

Draught @ GEIB, Grande Esposizione Italiane della Birra 2012, Nuova Fiera di Roma, via Portuense 1645, Rome, Italy 00100.Dark red brown colour with a average to large, frothy to creamy, good lacing, fully lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, caramel, moderate to heavy hoppy, pine, orange - citrus, grapefruit. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, pine, hoppy, dark malt. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20121214]

03/11/2012 Brasserie 4:20 (tap). Nera, impenetrabile, schiuma beige abbastanza abbondante e persistente. Al naso luppoli, con sentori agrumati, erbacei e di radice. In bocca è molto luppolata e secca, con sentori di radice e di crosta di pane bruciata, l’alcol è nascosto in maniera incredibile. Corpo medio, carbonazione corretta. Eccellente Black IPA!
