Bottled. A hazy dark amber beer with a thin beige head. The aroma has notes of alcohol, candy sugar, and liquorice. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, alcohol, candy sugar, liquorice, and sirup, leading to a dry alcohlic finish. The body is thick.

Bottle 33 cl. Courtesy of madmitch76. Pours a cloudy amber with a small off-white head. Sweet overripe fruit in the nose and then a disturbing touch of star anise. Thick and solid body, sweet overripe fruit, a little greasy hops and then again this star anise off note. Warming alcohol finish. Would’ve loved this without the star anise. 301112

330ml bottle. Pours a deep reddy brown with no head. Aroma is strong star anise, alcohol and cough medicine. Taste is sweet to start with star anise. Strong banana and wheaty finish. Full in the mouth but little carbonation. Agree with the barley wine similarities.
