Bottle. Nose is cocoa, milk chocolate, vanilla, caramel. Roast, chocolate, caramel, fudge, vanilla, hint of marshmallow, faint ash and big bitter coffee with a slight fruity note in the finish stop it being over sweet. Mouthfeel is smooth. Much better than I was expecting,

The roast stands out very strong to make this beer better than the rest. It is strong and chocolatey. Otherwise, nicely to style. D&S Dresden (3.7 nov 2018) 10 months to expiry bottle from craftbiershop. A bit thin and sharp. English hop forward. Nice smooth roast though. I’d give it a 3.6 now.

Thuis uit een flesje en een zeer mooi bier voor mijn 600ste! Diep roodbruin van kleur, beige schuim. Caramel en chocolade zowel in het aroma als in de smaak, die laatste is ook nog eens lekker zacht, waardoor dit een goed doordrinkbaar bier is, erg lekker!

Bottle pour into nonic pint glass from Redstone Liquors, Stoneham. Appearance is clear, dark brown/red with copious sparkle, finger-width beige head with poor retention and no lacing. Aroma is chocolate, strong initial burst of almost burnt roasted malt, toffee, fruit. Taste is roasted malt, caramel, fruit, later chocolate, mild nuts and earthy bitter European hops. Palate is medium bodied with smooth texture, average carbonation, and mix of sweet fruit and malt with dry, earthy bitter. Overall, decent complexity. Strong all around.

500ml bottle in London. Thick and back with a decent off white head chocolate and coffee aroma, flavour is big, bold, chocolate and coffe, almost chewy texture and a spicy hop finish. Really good

Creamy light beige head stayed on a finely carbonated jet black body. Malt, dark berry & mildly smoked aroma. Medium bodied, smooth on the palate with a tickle down throat & cloying finish. Bitter/sweet tastes of malt, dark sugar, dark chocolate & cream with a tangy citrus finish.
