Bottled. A hazy amber beer with an off-white head. The aroma has notes of caramel and alcohol with a dusty edge. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, caramel, alcohol, and wheat as well as a light note of oxidation, leading to a dry wheaty finish.

Cloudy light orange to straw liquid with a good head that dissipates leaving little lacing. Sweet balance of bananas and clove. Lots of bubblegum. Good wheat. However, it could all be amped up a bit. Taste doesn’t quite live up to the smell. The wheat just isn’t strong enough. There is a bit too much fusel alcohol flavor. The banana/clove/bubblegum flavors need to be stronger and thicker to cover up these faults. Good mouthfeel but a bit thin and lacks the perfect carbonation of better weizenbocks. Easy to drink.

Bottle, at RBNAG-09. It’s a hazy, orange-golden beer topped by a big, creamy, off-white head. Some bubblegum on the nose, with banana, some alcohol, a nice subtle hop addition, and a touch of cloves. There’s also a little caramel note. The flavor is sweet, with banana, some lemony sourness, a touch of bubblegum and cloves, and a decent bitterness rounding the whole thing off. A bit thin body maybe, effervescent as it should be. Long, pleasant and slightly warming finish. Nice! 091107

Bottle: Hazy, deep golden, rather quickly collapsing off-white head, leaving a little lace; solid sweetish-caramelly nose, completed by a robust bready - almost a bit burnt - touch; robust sweet-sourish flavour, medioum bodied, oily; a faint lemony fruitiness shows up in the distinctive sweet-sourish finish, that is followed by a very light hoppy aftertaste. Nice brew, I liked it.......

(bottle) Cloudy, orange to amber colour with a dense and tall slightly tanned foamy head. Sweet cara-malty and wheaty aroma with fruity notes of banana and peach, accompanied by traces of cloves and almonds. Sweet flavour, medium to full bodied with an almost creamy carbonation. Moderately wheaty and cara-malty taste with fruity and shy spicy notes; sweet and delicately fruity finish with a rather slim malt-character. A decent standard Weizenbock. 08.I.10

500 ml bottle sampled@RBNAG 2009, Vatlandsvåg. Hazy orange body with a big, foamy off-white head. Aroma of banana, esters, spicy, wheat and hops. Both appearance and aroma is lovely. Flavor is sweet, fruity, banana, spicy, yeast and a hint of caramel. A nice and balanced wheat with a descent bitterness, very refreshing and well hidden alcohol.

Bottle, 7%. 3 years past BB date. Wheaty and vinous aroma. Hazy light brown colour. Small head. The flavour is vinous and alcoholic with some bread. Not bad considering its age, but surely better fresh.
