(Bottle, Royal Oak, Borough, London, 25 Nov 2009) Reddish brown colour with brief, beige head. Fruity, malty nose with notes of dried fruit, cherries in brandy and a hint of chocolate. Rather vinous. Malty, fruity taste with dried fruit, orange peel and raisins. A touch of dusty hops, overshadowed by sweet malt. Full body, fairly sweet. A very nice and warming winter ale.

The flavor is sweet with strong notes of malt, caramel, hops, alcohol, and very ripe berries, leading to a bitter and alcoholic finish.
