Sampled from the tap at As Is. Pours a clear yellow with a white head that dissipates quickly to the edges. Aroma has berries and sweet grains with a bit of grain, oak and funk backing. Flavor has earthy grains and oak with light berry and dry straw underlying.

500ml bottle. Barely clear, yellow-ish, golden colour with average to huge, frothy to creamy, moderately lasting, pertinaciously lacing, white head. Fruity, funky, herbal, yeasty aroma, hints of white wine, gooseberry, unripe pear, green apple, a touch of dill, brine and nectarine, oaky and tannic overtones. Taste is dry, fruity, slightly funky, minimally oaky, some residual sweetness, notes of green apple, white wine, fresh oak with hints of vanilla and a tannic touch, hints of white grapes; minimally flat, exhausted, woody finish. Slightly juvenile and erratic.

On tap at The Ginger Man, NYC. It’s an unclear, orange-colored beer topped by a dense, small, off-white head. The aroma is funky and lightly sourish, with some nutty and fruity scents. Orange zest and a decent bitterness in the flavor, with some nuts and a generic fruityness, and a nice funkyness. Not really sour, but tart on the palate, full-bodied and dry, with a nice carbonation and a long finish. Not bad at all, but sort of weird. Can’t put my finger on it though, it’s just a bit weird. 150624

Courtesy of Matthew at Right Proper, thank you sir! Cloudy orange yellow color, white edge head. Nice aroma of dusty mango, pineapple, melon. Taste is peppery, dusty orange peel. Very tasty. My 700th saison rating.
