25 March 2023. At Innis & Gunn, Edinburgh. Shared with the lovely Anke!

A: hazy dark amber, small, foamy, tan head.
A: date, fig, molasses, brown rum, candied peanut.
T: sweet fig, pear, brown sugar, nuts & herbs.
F: herbal hops, dried fruit, wood & brown rum (without noticeable alcohol effect).
P: medium body, oily texture, average carbonation.
This works pretty well, I like it.

Pours an opaque brown into a glass from a bottle. Aroma is definitely a barrel aged rum note over nondescript malt. With the level of barrel aroma I was expecting something rather sweet, but it was unexpectedly dry. Okay beer.

Bottled 330ml (AIH147)
Dark ruby colour, small beige head. Aroma has light rhum, toffee and nutty maltyness. Medium-bodied. Quite sweet toffeish, rhum flavour. Low bitterness. Strong malty backbone. Simplish but taste is good, dessert beer like.
