Bottle from Tescos. Reddish brown pour with a beige head. Red berries, orchard fruit and nuts in the nose. Same approach in the flavour, whisper of rum. Quite tasty.

0,33 bottle.
One of the most beautiful beers. Dark, chestnut-red color, cream-colored foam, attractive, traditional glass. Sweet, sugary - maybe a rum (?) scent, - which is more caramel malt smell. Alcohol hiding. Its taste is round, delicious, sweet, caramel, slightly dark chocolate. Alcoholic finish. It was a very pleasant disappointment. I expressly recommend sweet, aromatic, delicious full-bodied English beer. Recommended!!!

Keg at the Loaded Dog in Leicester. At a mute 5.2%, or advertised as such. Reddish brown, clear with a bit of off-white head. Heady oak and vanilla in the aroma so no surprise there, but there is also some muted cherry and a touch of milk chocolate. sweet taste with smoky vanilla notes, leading to a slightly metallic aftertaste. Heavy carbonation. Not unlike the original, but a bit more subtle and less artificial.

Bottle. Clear ruby body with a thick beige head. Steady carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of smoke, raisin and rum. Flavour of vanilla, fruit cake and caramel. Medium body with a smooth texture. Soft fizz. Overly sweet but the aroma is nice.

Bottle from Aldi, Chertsey. Sweet fruity aroma with a malty edge. Bubbly off-white head. Opaque chestnut. Sweet. A hint of bitterness briefly appears before the sweetness reasserts itself. Fruity, syrup and yes there's rum. Some warmth.Light-medium bodied. Thin. Soft-fizzy carbonation. Long finish. Hmmm. Nice enough. For me manages to restrain the sweetness enough not to ruin things. But lightweight for the style, I want full-on Christmas.

Spicy hop aroma. Different flavor, combination of sweet malt, caramel, wood, spice, mild hop crispness with an almost sugary finish. Some light smoke aftertaste. Hard to define the flavor.
