Winner of FIVE Great American Beer Festival medals, three of them gold, including our 2023 award for American Strong Pale Ale! Plus a 2024 World Beer Cup bronze medal for American-Style Strong Pale Ale! Our drier, decidedly “tropical” IPA that’s light on bitterness, but heavy on hop aroma, courtesy of 100% Mosaic hops. One whiff and you get super intense notes of passion fruit, mango, and lychee. Grain bill of just American two-row malt and a clean fermentation keep it simple and allow these hops to shine.

16 oz can poured, gifted by Tcon. Thanks! For some reason i expected this to be too tropical, or too sweet. I should really never doubt these guys. A mostly clean and bright golden appearance, medium rocky foam head. Aroma is a nice blend of grassy hops and pineapple like fruit. Somewhat aggressive hop profile, but the no sweet, tropical fruit constant is what stands out here for me. As flavorful and refreshing as they come. Incredible brew.

US Pint can at Vino Carta Solana on 10th February 2022. Been coming to Southern California for years, but never managed to have a beer from these guys before. Golden blonde body, white head. The Mosaic hops do their thing and tropical fruitiness can be found in both the aroma and taste, nice!

On tap at Alvarado Street - Monterey, pours a clear blonde with a small white head. Aroma brings out dank hops, pine, tropical fruits, and some stone fruits. Flavour is bursting of tropical fruits and piney hops, with tangy citrus hops. Remarkably tropical and bright, with impeccable brightness and awesome. Phenomenal.

Poured from a 16 oz can dated February 27, 2020. Aroma is fairly fruity with tropical citrus, mango, passion fruit and lychee. Light cracker malt notes and hints of alcohol. Pours a rather clear, yellow gold with a fairly large, thick, frothy, white head that recedes slowly to a small film that lingers. Moderately high lacing and faint legs. Flavor is somewhat sweet with medium light cracker malt notes. Medium bitterness and light alcohol spice. Some tropical citrus, mango, passion fruit, lychee and hints of pineapple. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, a nice IPA but not an amazing one. It's not the fruit profile I prefer, and it's missing a bit of body. Aroma is nice. --- Beer merged from original tick of Mai Tai PA Tropical IPA on 22 Oct 2019 at 05:59 - Score: Appearance - 8 | Aroma - 8 | Flavor - 8 | Texture - 8 | Overall - 8. Original review text: Poured from a 16 oz can. Aroma is hop forward with lots of tropical fruit notes of passion fruit, mango, lychee as well as some citrus and faint dank, resin notes. Light cracker malt notes. Pours a slightly hazy, gold color with a medium large, thick, pillowy, white head that recedes slowly but steadily to the edges where it lingers. Medium low lacing and faint legs. Flavor is somewhat sweet with light cracker malt notes. Moderate bitterness and light alcohol spice. Lots of tropical fruit notes from the hops - passion fruit, mango and lychee with some tropical citrus notes as well. Light resin notes. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, a nice, fruity IPA. Its not a haze bomb, but it has nice fruity notes and a low bitterness.
