PX sherry barrel Kriek
This Oude Kriek was macerated with sour cherries for almost eleven months. The lambikken used while macerating were both one- and two-year old. We also used one-, two- and three-year old lambikken from (slightly peated) sherry barrels to blend the sour cherry lambik into a Kriek. By doing so, the weighted average age of this Kriek is a tad less than two-and-a-half years upon release. Final fruit intensity of 354 grams per litre of Kriek. 100% 3 Fonteinen.

Tap at Beergeek Bar. Reddish body, whiteish head. Cherry-forward aroma, lighter funk, maybe peat. Lovely, clear cherry notes mixing with funky touches in the background, not much peat, or at all? Huh, my notes aren't perfect, but I enjoyed it! Excellent cherry lambic!

Bottle sample at a tasting at Odi's place. Hazy red. Cherries, barnyard, phenolic smoky notes, oak, sour, marzipan, juicy, rounded. Really great, delicious.

Bottle @ Odense Summer Gathering, 2022. Pours hazy reddish with a small white head. Deep and intense cherries. Cherry stone and wood. Funky and dry. Slightly tart. Lovely intense jammy and juicyness.

Odense Summer Gathering 2022 after Jonas Vingegaard victory on Hautacam. Hazy red with a small white head. Aroma of cherry, with lots of funk, and hints of dessert wine and band-aid. Dry and tart fruity and funky flavour with a charred note with really great cherry character.

Kriek still not on my favorites list but this one's got a nice surprise kick of sherry with slight peat flavor that rounds out the acidity a bit.

Flaska från Etre. Smutsigt rödbrun vätska utan skum. Stor djup ganska söt körsbärsdoft med mycket kärnkaraktär. Smaken också lite sötare Men med en lite vass syra. De tjäriga fat märks ger en lite annorlunda smakbild med djup, sötma och en lätt bränd smak. Mycket gott

750 ml corked & caged bottle, Oude Kriek (season 19|20) Blend No. 75, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 7.3%. Hazy red colour, no head. Aroma of sour cherries, cherry kernels, farmhouse, oak and a hint of peat. The flavour has sour cherries, lemons and brettanomyces galore, also oak and a hint of peat.
