VIENNA LAGER
This easy drinking Vienna Lager owes a tip of its cap to a timeless autumn tradition. A chance to clear your mind before Saturday’s main event. This crushable lager character comes via Vienna, Munich and pilsner malt and Mt Hood hops. This is a lager that’s in formation and ready to march.
Availability: Seasonal: August-November ABV: Ranges from 5-5.6% depending on the year. Hops: Flex Flowable Extract, Tetrahop Gold, Crystal Malt: Barke Vienna, Origin Pilsen, Carafa Special Crushability: 6 How’s It Taste? Light, Refreshing, Crisp
Note: This beer ranges in ABV from 5 - 5.6% depending on the year. Additionally, this Skull Session brew may be also sub-labeled Scarlet Lager or Homage, etc, depending on the menu listing, year or can/bottle label.

My can say homage skull sessjion, but I read its the same beer as their other skull sessions, including the scarlet. Pour is like iced tea, no head. Ever so mild malt nose, barely detectable. First taste has a tad of that immature brewer phenolic bite in there. Decent level of carbonation. Near the middle, yes there is some of that vienna caramelized malt but the mostly I can't ignore that sharp pointed bitter bite. As I near the end, I seem to be getting used to it, and it seems to wane, but this stuff needs a few manners. Just saying. I hope the crispness they refer too in the description is not that medium astringent bite I'm detecting. Has a way to go if it wants to be up there with Trader Joe's Jose Dark, Birdfish Speedy Penguino, Modelo Noche Especial or even Michelob Amberbock.

Taster at brewery. Clear, bright golden, wispy white head. Grainy, malty aroma and taste. More pale later than Vienna. Sticky and dry.
