375ml bottle. Darkest redd-ish brown colour with minimally late awakening, small, frothy, fading, dark beige to tan head. Dark and caramel malty, yeasty fruity and minimally woody aroma, notes of dark caramel, molasses, dried dark fruit, alcohol soaked dried dark fruit, plum, fig, date, raisin, rum, whiffs of coffee and dark chocolate. Taste is dark and caramel malty with some residual sweetness, yeasty fruity, slightly alcoholic and minimally woody, hints of dark caramel, molasses, dried dark fruit, alcohol soaked dried dark fruit, raisin, fig, date, plum, some rum, minimally papery-woody overtones; sweet-ish and slightly warming, alcoholic finish. Slightly creamy, dissolved sugar enriched, watery texture, smooth and soft palate, fine, dense, soft, mildly prickly carbonation. Rich and complex, balanced and homogeneous, mild and mellow - pretty good.

On tap at Drake's Dealership, pours a deep dark brown / black with a small tan head. Nose is loaded with boozy rum, with candi sugar, floral notes, and esters. Flavour is insanely hot and boozy, with a ridiculous amount of rum, followed by black liquorice, more booze, and nary a hint of any Belgian character. The rum barrel really dominates everything here. Too hot and boozy. Difficult to drink but it's fun in tiny doses.

Bottle from Total Wine in Folsom, CA. Pours dark brown/black with a moderate tan head. Aroma of rum, chocolate and smooth toasted malt. Full bodied. Lots of rum for flavor. A little earthiness. A little heat. Some chocolate and dark toasted malt. Seem dry and not dry. Bitter - from heat and burnt malt? There is heat, but it is not obnoxious. Finally getting some antique wood notes. Very tasty. Very satisfying.

Bottle from Tavour. Dark brown pour with small, fine beige head. Boozy aroma, brown sugar, chocolate, rum. Taste is oh so sweet and warm, nay, hot. Sugary, molasses, rum packing a lot of heat. Nice, full mouthfeel, slick. Burns all the way down. Wow!
