Bottle. Amber coloured, smaller lacy off-white head. Moderate toasty nose with a tinge of nuts. Rather light bodied, dryish light bitter-sweet flavour. A very light acidity is detectable in the dryish bitter-sweet finish. A bit boring...........

Bottle, 4.9%. Very weak buttery aroma. Clear reddish chestnut colour. Very small white head. The flavour is malty and dusty, slightly roasted and perhaps a hint of butter. The aftertaste is a little burnt, and perhaps also slightly grainy. But it is balanced by some sweetness and spicy aroma hops.

29/07 Draught in Bard Celtic Pub in Rijeka. I think this is the one, as waitress told me it’s Vienna style. Poured clear red body with medium sized ebony head. Rather weak aroma but pleasantly, caramel malted. Flavor is somehow different than I’ve excpected - bitterish hoppy but malty at the same time, largely in form of sweet caramel. Pretty thin bodied, but still nice. It was interesting how the first sips revealed bitterness which was not quite representative alone, later moving into caramel sweetness which is felt specially on its long finish. Fine, interesting, but nothing great again.

Bottle at Chris_o’s The Wolf tasting. Amber colour with a bit of syrupy malt in the mouth, but pretty decent. I enjoyed all of the Hirter beers I had which I bought from The Bohemian in Deal.

Coldtrüb amber colour, with fast gone yellowish head. Very sweet bready nose, like a German Bock, smells also like active caramelisation. Taste is much more neutral to slight bitterish; leafy & earthy flavours, virtually no sweetness, with the exception of some retronasal caramel. Light to medium bodied, light grist slickness. Special, even taken into account the Vienna characteristics. Marcus, thanks!

Bottled(330ml). -Nice pale cooper coloured, small head, malty nose with notes of toffee. The aroma is also very malty with notes of toffee, caramel and fruit. Rather sweet finish. Simple and quite good vienna.

Light orange-brown (dull copper) body, thin off-white head. Aroma of toffee and fig, thin and acidic, even soapy, with toasty notes. Thin, lightly tart body with notes of tobacco, toast, and fig. Decent complexity for such a thin beer, but the watery body and acidity are underwhelming.
