750 ml bottle thanks to Folkman. Pours a ruddy brown color with a large tan head. A big sweet caramel, toast and butter nose. Toffee, dark berries, something very sweet here and unwelcome, maybe its not diacetal but it is very dry, very sweet, fruity. It's big. I just think that the barrel doesn't help, it adds to sticky sweetness.

Bottle at The West Side Tavern. Pours clear dark amber with a small off-white head, light lacing. Brandy, oak, sweet malts, raisins, vanilla and leather. Nice. This is the second time I've had this, but I don't know what happened to my other rating.

750 ml bottle shared with Craig. Dark brown with violet hues, small bubbly head. Big brandy notes in the aroma. Brandy works well with the sweetness of the Doppelbock, notes of plum, fruity.
