Draft at Payette. Near black pour, tight collar of beige head. Malty, sweet, boozy aroma (interesting, since its only 7.3%). First impression was barleywine, but taste reveals much more. Sweet, malty flavor, bitter, boozy edge. Pretty close to style.

On tap at the Boise brewery/taproom Clear very dark brown with a coarse tan head. Terrific boozy dark caramelized malts and a little dark pitted fruit yeast character. Some campfire and dark roast in the flavors. Fairly light bodied and well attenuated, feels and smells bigger that 7% Very tasty.

On tap at the brewery pours dark cola brown topped with a small tan ring of a head. Nose is big bourbon barrel notes some wet wheat roast aswell and sweetness. Taste is more of the nice sweet malts spice and a big bourbon barrel kick.
