A Stout made with Cà Phê Chồn – one of the world’s rarest coffees, imported from Vietnam. Coffee beans are collected, cleaned and roasted after going through the digestive tract of the luwak, a type of civet with very particular tastes. Roasted malt links coffee, citrus and dark chocolate to form a potent brew leading to a hoppy, happy, bitter citrus finish.

Bottle, 22oz. It’s a black beer with a finger thick tan head. Nice lacing. Mocha, coffee, roasted malts and nuts in the flavor, with a pleasant alcohol touch. Woody hints. It’s sweet, nutty and warming on the palate, with lots of caramel sauce. It’s full bodied, warming and smooth oh the palate, with an ever lasting finish. A bit intense, but sure nice. 170516

355ml can from Mikkeller Beer Club. Canned 11/17/16. Pours pitch black with a massive thick foamy brown head. Aroma of roasty malts, coffee, chocolate, syrup, licorice and earthiness. Taste is sweet, roasty, heavily carbonated, syrupy and burnt with some brown sugar, coffee, chocolate, espresso, mocha and earthiness. Finish is sweet, carbonated, brown sugary and roasty with some licorice, burnt notes, earthiness, coffee, chocolate, mocha and espresso. Good, but not quite as balanced as the original Mikkeller version.

330 ml can from Mikkeller Beer Club, canned 11/17/16.
Pitch black body, with a big, creamy, lacing, dark beige head.
Aroma of espresso, coffee beans, cocoa, dark chocolate, nuts, liquorice, soy sauce, dark fruits, vanilla.
Lovely, rich taste of espresso, dark chocolate, cocoa, caramel, molasses, soy sauce, dark fruits.
Full, oily mouthfeel, with a quite lively carbonation.
Finishes roasty, medium bitter, a bit wooden, warming, with lots of coffee again, liquorice, soy sauce, bitter chocolate, subtle sweet notes.

Tasty! Lots of coffee, while still not too dominant, leaving room for big, complex, dark malts. Well balanced, quite roasty, but also quite a lot of sweeter notes. Overall not on par with the original Brunch Weasel, but a lovely, dense sipper how I like it.
