Capped 375 from Tavour. Pours hazy dark brown with a few tan bubbles. Aroma of toffee and plummy fruit; brown sugar. Full bodied. Flavor is toffee, plummy fruit, kandi, and earthy, slightly musty wood. Not dry, but not at all sticky. Not exactly bitter, but there's some heat that helps in place of that. Heat is more flavor than annoyance. Excellent. Could use more plumminess, but I always think that.

Bottle from Tavour. Dark brown, but still clear. Flat, still. Sweet, woody aroma, prunes and raisins, boozy notes singe the nostrils. Taste is sweet and leathery, pit fruit, heat comes at the back. Mouth coating, lightly dry. Really tasty, but brewed for sipping.

Tap at the brewery - Turbid ruby pour - soapy lace - nose and flavor of fig, plum, brown sugar, licorice, red wine, treacle, cherry skins - alcohol is quite present, but is more warming than it is boozy - itβs good!
