Bottle. Pours hazy dark brown with airy beige head. Clear aroma of yeast and malt, with some notes of hops and touches of metal and caramel. Bitter, roasty flavour with notes of malt and yeast and touches of caramel and fruit. Unpleasant sourish hints, leading one to suspect that the beer is not clean (the bottle is not anywhere near the BBD). Roasty, slightly metallic and mildly acetic aftertaste. Just drinkable but not much more.

*Old rating, best before 16.11.04. Rated as Heide-Schwarzbier, 4,8%. Malzig-röstiges, recht trockenens Schwarzbier. Ein Hauch von Säure, Röstmalz, leckere dunkle Aromen. Lecker.

Ins Glas ergießt sich ein schwarzes Bier mit ordentlicher Schaumkrone. Geruch röstmalzig, erdig, leicht würzig. Geschmack röstmalzig, leichte Kaffe Aromen, erdig, trocken malzig, leicht süß.

Bottle looks good. Beer in the glass deep black, nice head. Starts mild, fine malty, modest sweet. Dry and modest bitter background. Some prickly-fruity hints. Nice schwarzbier!

Bottle 500ml.Clear medium to dark brown amber color with a average to large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is light moderate malty, roasted, bread notes, light hoppy, grass. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration, roasted, toasted, dark malt. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20110218]

clear dark brown, small smooth white head. rye, roasted grains, dry dark caramel in the aroma flavor is dark caramel, malty, rye, roasted grains.

Bottled. A deep red beer with a thin beige head. The aroma has notes malt and caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of caramel and straw, leading to a bitter finish.
