Lecker Ding, Banane, Malz, angenehme Süße, cremig, Kastenbock.

500ml bottle. Slightly cloudy, copper-ish, chestnut colour with huge, thick, creamy, moderately to mostly lasting, moderately lacing, off-white head. Sweet-ish, wheaty, minimally nutty and toasty, malty and yeasty spicy as well as yeasty fruity aroma, notes of baked banana, clove, nutmeg, cinnamon, dark honey, a touch of hazelnut. Taste is sweet-ish, wheaty, minimally toasty and nutty malty, slightly yeasty fruity and yeasty spicy, notes of baked banana, hints of dark honey, hazelnut, some clove, cinnamon, a touch of nutmeg. Creamy-watery texture, slightly cloying palate, medium, prickly to lively carbonation. Well balanced, rich, manifold, integrated, maybe minimally overcarbonated - very good.

0.5 l bottle from 'Homberg's große Bierwelt', 2021 vintage at 7% abv, best before July 2021. Hazy, dark ruby with a large, quite dense, stable, beige head. Sweetish-malty, quite yeasty-spicy and slightly fruity aroma of caramel, overripe banana, clove, raisins and light marzipan. Quite sweet, malty, rather yeasty-spicy and a bit fruity taste of caramel, toasted nuts, light chocolate, raisins, plums, overripe banana and clove, followed by a medium long, gently bitter, minimally roasty, quite yeasty-spicy finish. Medium to full body, smooth and gently effervescent mouthfeel, average carbonation. Moreish, saturating Dunkelweizenbock. Maybe not as great as their legendary pale Weizenbock but among the best dark ones I've tried so far.

Bottle ordered from A Hoppy Place, Windsor. Aroma of caramelized banana and cloves. Opaque dark brown. Thick foamy white head. Medium sour citrusness abetted by a clove tang. Underlying sweet banana puree and nougat. Medium bodied. Creamy. Average carbonation. Long slightly astringent finish. Easy drinking if unexciting.
