From a can pours a deep amber. A nice light beige tan head. Smooth slightly sweet malty woody flavors and aromas. Fairly full bodied and rich. At nearly 7% pretty big for a fest beer. Nice flavors and smooth palate. Touches of brown sugar and woody maltiness.

Bottle from Brewers Haven. Dark amber with small creamy head . Malty aroma, dark brown bread. Taste is also centered on the malts, pumpernickel. On the darker side of the märzen spectrum.

On tap at St. Augustine's, pours a clear amber brown with a small off-white head. Aroma is malt heavy, with lots of toasted bready malt. Flavour is quite full-bodied with loads of bready malt, caramel and some grassy notes as well. Really nicely constructed. Nothing tame about this. One of the better fest beers I've had in a while.

Draught at Stateside Craft, Vancouver
Amber color with compact head. The aroma and flavor are fruity and stale, mellow, a bit cloying, with no character; candies, some dust; low bitterness.
Not surprisingly, and American take at the style; not a bad beer, but utterly uninspiring.
