In Williamsburg, Brooklyn, we forge barley malt and hops from Germany, aromatic raw sugar from Mauritius and yeast from Belgium into our latest beer, Brooklyn Local 1. Behind the full golden color you'll find an alluring aroma, a dynamic complex of flavors. Belgian flair, Brooklyn fortitude and a dusting of our special yeast. To create this beer, we use the old technique of 100% bottle re-fermentation, a practice now rare even in Europe. It gives this beer a palate of unusual depth. Enjoy it locally or globally, as an aperitif or with your favorite dishes. It is particularly nice with spicy seafood and with fine cheeses.

Riktigt bra.

Bottle at Piccadilly, Bod. The colour is cloudy dark straw with a medium, off-white, creamy head. The aroma is sweet with hay, pale malt, Belgian yeast and some citrus and spices. Rich and sweet flavour that mirrors the aroma and the Belgian yeast is dominant with a touch of marzipan. Rich and soft mouth feel, and has a light to medium bitterness. A rich and sweet ale with a nice spicy touch. Well-balanced.

Bottle from SuperBest Ama’r Foodmarket, CPH, shared with Niller - golden pour with a thin white head. Sweet fruity, yeasty, wheaty, grassy, banana, subtle floral and medium spicy notes on the palate, very easy drinkable for the abv. Very good.

Reviewed from notes.
The appearance was a light hazy orange colored body with a nice foamy slightly lumpy white one finger head, some nice foamy lacing graces the sides of the glass.
The smell had the Belgian yeast up front combined nicely with clove, banana and lemon.
The taste was sweet with the previously mentioned flavors combining nicely.
On the palate, it sat about a medium with nothing harsh on the tongue. It leaves a dry finish and a crisp sweet aftertaste. Though the ABV is fairly high, the drinkability is pretty good. I have no problem being able to finish off the rest of this bomber within a session.
Overall, I would say this is a pretty good beer that I’d probably come back to.

750ml Flasche. Ins Glas ergießt sich ein minimal trübes goldgelbes Bier mit schöner Schaumkrone. Geruch sehr malzig süß, alkoholisch, belgische Hefe. Geschmack sehr malzig alkoholisch, fruchtig, würzig. Angenehm zu trinken.

Pours golden with a huge white head, loads of fine bubbles and leaving nice lacings. Aroma of malt, yeast, light honey, spice, fruity, light alcohol. Flavor is malt, yeast, honey, sweet ripe apples, spice, light boozy. Medium body, lively but gentle carbonation, light warming alcohol.

750 ml bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 11/10/2012. Pours fairly crystal clear bright golden amber color with a 2 finger fairly dense and rocky white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Dense soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a large amount of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Aromas of big lemon peel, orange peel, pear, apple, grape, clove, pepper, herbal, floral, grass, honey, bread, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with good balance and complexity of bright malt and fruity/spicy yeast notes; with good strength. Taste of big lemon zest, orange zest, pear, apple, grape, honey, bread, clove, pepper, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Lingering notes of lemon, pear, apple, grape, honey, bread, herbal, floral, pepper, clove, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a while. Awesome balance and complexity of bright malt and fruity/spicy yeast ester flavors; with a very crisp malt/yeast flavor balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium-high carbonation and medium bodied; with a very smooth, crisp, and moderately prickly mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a slight warming present after the finish. Overall this is a highly excellent Belgian Strong pale ale. All around great balance and complexity of malt and fruity/spicy yeast ester flavors; and very smooth and crisp to sip on for the big ABV. A highly enjoyable offering.
