In Williamsburg, Brooklyn, we forge barley malt and hops from Germany, aromatic raw sugar from Mauritius and yeast from Belgium into our latest beer, Brooklyn Local 1. Behind the full golden color you'll find an alluring aroma, a dynamic complex of flavors. Belgian flair, Brooklyn fortitude and a dusting of our special yeast. To create this beer, we use the old technique of 100% bottle re-fermentation, a practice now rare even in Europe. It gives this beer a palate of unusual depth. Enjoy it locally or globally, as an aperitif or with your favorite dishes. It is particularly nice with spicy seafood and with fine cheeses.

Clear blond beer, creamy irregular yellowish head, little stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: yeasty, bit soapy, bit dusty, sweet touch. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: bitter start, grapefruit, some overripe banana. Aftertaste: little bitter, grassy, some citrus, quite yeasty, some citrus. Decent, but not really impressive.

Tasted at the Brooklyn stand of the Horeca Expo Ghent 2015, a Belgian style luxury ale with sticky, stable, snow white head and deep golden blonde colour. Aroma of banana, honey, vanilla, marzipan, cloves, cinnamon, grass, brandy; fruity taste, banana, very refreshing lemony touch, mango, malt sweetness, yeasty, ending in a grassy and peppery, quite long hop bitter finish with lingering malt sweetness and some warming alcohol. Very good and very Belgian tripel-like.

Bottle at brew night. Pours hazy gold, thick white head, nice lacing. Big Belgian yeasty aromas, spicy and orange sweet. Taste is crisp, dry, spice, some light bready sweetness too. Medium body and very easy drinking. Nice.

Bottle, 0.75l, shared with friends. Hazy golden color with medium creamy white head and average sparkling appearance. Aroma of yeast, lemon, orange peel, some berries and hint of herbal hops. Taste starts with moderate sweet grainy malt, follows by refreshing fruity and yeasty acidity, spicy mouthfeel and well hidden alcohol level. Medium body, sticky texture and lively carbonation in palate. Nice one, although it hasn’t completely met my high hopes...

1pint 9.4 fl oz bottle bought in Manhattan. Sorry ... Pours out pale golden, fine white head. Malt and unknown fruity on the nose. Starts alcoholic malty, yeasty, dry fruity background. High carbonated. Heavy stuff. Nothing to drink fast. Almonds, marzipan and alcoholic in the aftertaste.

750 ml bottle. Pours a rich gold color with moderate head of big bubbles that dissipate quickly. Aromas of light maple syrup, raisins, and sweet malts. Flavors of toasted malts, brown sugar, alcohol, and light resin.
