Can to weizen glass.
Appearance: cloudy burnt orange color with a three and a half fingers of fluffy white head which took it's time to dissipate then leave some light sliding lace
Aroma: light on the true hefeweizen characteristics of the bubblegum, sweet wheat and clove but also adds in some grapefruity and lemony hop tones
Flavor: the grapefruity and lemony hop tones seem to be more up front than the bubblegum, sweet wheat and clove though those tones are there; no aftertaste
Texture: light to medium bodied, some smooth to creamy tones on the tongue; finishes more with the grapefruity and lemony tones
Overall: while I applaud creativity to the brewers who try to take traditional styles and add in their particular nuances for a brewer's take, this isn't a bad beer - I would say because the grapefruit and lemon tones are as strong as they are maybe this beer could be a different style? APWA, perhaps? I think I could see myself coming back to this, possibly.

Fresh hop version. Very cloudy yellow with white head. Hoppy aroma. Taste is hop, then wheat, then hop. Stripy finish.

Enjoyed on draft at Park Stone, Portland. Served with a lemon, and a Ryon Healy bomb! Love it. Hazy bright hefe, golden, pretty typical appearance. Refreshing flavor. Not overly wheat dominated. Slight citrus fruit without the lemon, and highlighted with. Light cream body, smooth and refreshing flavor. No complaints about this hefe from me. Good beer here.

Can from Brewers Haven. Pale golden, Small ring of head. Faint bready aroma, none of the usual weizen aromas. Taste too reflects the wheat bill. Not really a weizen. Normal American wheat ale.

On Tap at the Galveston location. Classic cloudy light beige. Small white haed..and a lemon wedge. This is an american variety not much German yeast notes. MIld and pale and light and balance...and lemony.
