A well-hopped rich and strong American ale. "Big Boss Man" is a blues song recorded by Jimmy Reed in 1960 credited to Luther Dixon and Al Smith. It was recorded by many artists, including Elvis Presley and B.B. King. Strong and rich malt complexity. Full-bodied, with a velvety, luscious texture. The alcohol strength and hop bitterness combine to leave a very long finish. Grains: Maris Otter, Pale, Munich, Vienna and other specialty malts Hops: Equinox, Chinook, Centennial, Cascade, Citra, Simcoe and Amarillo Notes: rich caramel, toffee, licorice, vinous, dried fruit, citrus and pine.

Bomber from brewery. Dark mahogany color, relatively flat. A bit of fruit sweetness and lots of caramel malts in the smell. Taste is honed in on the malts, with some brown sugar and plums in the background. Big, beefy barley wine done well.
