bottle at cropredy 2022 Saturday.. dark brown.. small tan head... dusty earthy stout nose... soft woody chocolate.. dusty light sour edge... just not quite right

Appearance: Dark dark brown. Huge tan head. Aroma: Dark malt, caramel, dark chocolate. Taste: Dark malt, dark fruits. Some coffee and brown sugar. Very fizzy mouthfeel. Bought: Amstein, 330 ml, CHF 2.96 Info: 2/9-2022, BB: 12/10-2022

Bottle from Beer52. Dark brown to black with a large but rapidly diminishing beige head. Light but prickly fizz. Raspberries and strawberries mixed into black coffee and cocoa, with a hint of smoke. Smooth but not full bodied; it's really rather drinkable. A touch of acridity in the finish is the only bad point, but that's not enough to prevent it being a very enjoyable stout. Nice one.

Ooh – froth all over the place with this one ! Totally filled my glass and then, later, discovered it was oozing out of the top of the half empty bottle. Anyway, bottle from Beer 52. Pours a very dark brown with enormous beige head. Peanuts and malts with a hint of chocolate in the nose. Sweet and fruity with lactose is the initial mouth sensation. Later on some peppery hoppiness starts to emerge, alongside chocolate. Finish is sweet but with some underlying bitterness. This is a really nice smooth easy going stout.

Bottle, 0.33l. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee, nuts and herbs. Pours almost black color with huge frothy tan-light head and sparkling appearance. Taste starts with rich coffee and heavily roasted malt, follows by chocolate, nuts, dried fruit and herbs, mouthfeel is smooth, while finish is mild bitter. Medium body, creamy texture and average carbonation in palate. Shiny dark star…

Panda at home, thanks to SHIG, 31/08/21. Black with a good sized lasting tan head. Nose is dark malts, hint of vanilla, light roast, chocolate biscuit. Taste comprises chocolate biscuit, light roast, hint of Neopolitan ice cream, light ashen tones, dried fruits. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, light drying close. Decent stout.

30/8/2021. Bottle sample courtesy of SHIG, cheers. Pours black with a very small beige head. Aroma of chocolate, coffee, roasted malt, caramel, fruit cake. Medium sweetness, light roasted bitterness. Moderate body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Milky cocoa finish. Not bad.

Bottle: Poured a black with a carbonated light brown head. Aroma is rich roasty, chocolate, fudge. Taste is roasted malts, chocolate, ashy, caramel, finish is a bit earthy.
