This seasonally brewed strong English Ale is our most popular winter beer. A hefty malt bil and hops combine to form a floral and sweet offering. “ Have a couple and see why we call it Tanglefoot. ”

Hazy almost murky pour. Medium brown and no head or lacing. Carmely malt flavors. Fairly sweet and a little alcohol in teh flavors. Under hopped for an American Strong I think but smooth malty flavors and body.

Grunt fill from Albertsons. Clear brown pour with tiny skin of head. Straight up malty aroma, mild smoke notes. Taste also follows the malts, semi sweet, kind of nutty, a little earthy. Wouldn’t classify this as an American staying ale, but more English.

Draft @ BP. Light orange color, topped with a thin ring of beige head. Faint nose of citrus and florals, not much else. Taste is on the sweet side; citrus, caramel, and fruity. Hints at an English barleywine… too mild though. Not real impressed with this one.

Bomber. Pours a mostly clear dark copper color with a medium off-white head. A sour cherry and malty nose. The flavor is dominated by acidic sour cherries, obviously some some of bug got into here, caramel, toast, more lingering sourness that mellows a bit. Quite bad. Even some band aids and rubber. Cool label and a nice brewery that I’ve visited. But a terrible mess.

On tap at brew pub Pours out a dark amber topped with a cream off white head. A nice aroma of light malts and sweetness. Tast of sweet caramel and more malts. A light bitter bite at the end. Pretty good. The guy at the Pub called it the little brother to a Barley Wine.
